Progress and accounts

How anonymous browser progress works, what signing in changes, and what clearing data can do.

Published · Last reviewed

Is an account required?

No. Roadmaps are usable signed out. Accounts are optional and exist to sync checklist progress.

Anonymous browser progress

When you are signed out, checklist state is stored in this browser’s local storage using roadmap-specific keys. Progress stays on the device and browser profile you used.

What signing in changes

  • Signed-in progress can sync through SupportRoadmap’s progress API to your account store.
  • That lets checklist state follow you across devices when you use the same account.
  • Signing out returns you to local-only behaviour on that browser.

Clearing site or browser data

Clearing site data, cookies, or local storage for SupportRoadmap can delete anonymous local progress. Signed-in server-side progress is separate, but a device that only had local progress will look empty after a wipe.

Resetting progress

SupportRoadmap does not currently ship a dedicated “reset all progress” button. Unchecking items clears those checks. For anonymous progress, removing this site’s browser data also clears local checklist state. Use that carefully.

Account and experimental preferences live in Settings (open from your account menu when signed in, or go directly to the URL).
