Welcome to SupportRoadmap. We're committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the limited data we collect. This policy explains what information we gather, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.

SupportRoadmap is a learning platform focused on technical support career development. We collect only the information needed to operate the site, respond to you, and — where you have opted in — send product updates.

What We Collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it:

• Waitlist signup: Name, email, background, target or current role, biggest challenge, optional “what to build next”, and whether you opt in to marketing emails
• Roadmap suggestions: Optional name and email, roadmap title, description, intended audience, and optional marketing opt-in
• Contact form: Name, email, optional topic, message, and optional marketing opt-in
• Optional account sync: If you sign in, your Clerk account identifier and roadmap checklist progress so it can sync across devices

We do not collect passwords, payment information, or sensitive personal data. We do not track your behaviour across other websites for advertising.

How We Use Your Data

• Responding to you: To answer contact messages and review suggestions
• Product development: To understand which roadmaps and features people need most (intent fields from the waitlist)
• Marketing emails (opt-in only): If you tick the marketing checkbox, we may send product updates, learning tips, and a short onboarding sequence. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email or by contacting us
• Progress sync: To restore your checklist across devices when you choose to sign in

Under Australian spam rules, we only send commercial electronic messages when you have given express consent. Marketing checkboxes are unchecked by default. We will never sell your email address. Historical waitlist or contact signups may receive a one-time re-permission email asking whether they want product updates; we only continue marketing mail after they confirm.

Cookies, Local Progress & Optional Accounts

Local-only mode (default): Roadmaps work without an account. Checklist progress is stored in your browser using localStorage and is not sent to our servers.

Optional account sync: If you choose to sign in (email via Clerk), we store your roadmap checklist progress in our Neon database so it can sync across devices. Signing in is optional and is not required to use the site. You can sign out anytime; local progress on that device remains available.

Local preferences: Optional settings such as experimental feature toggles (for example, the new roadmap experience) are stored locally in your browser as a versioned preferences object. These preferences are not synced to our servers today.

Essential cookies: We may use essential cookies for basic site functionality and, if you sign in, for authentication session management. We also use privacy-focused analytics (Antlytics and Vercel Analytics) to understand aggregate site usage.

Third-Party Services

• Neon: Stores form submissions, marketing consent records, and — if you opt in to an account — roadmap progress sync data
• Clerk: Provides optional email sign-in / sign-up for account sync. Account data is processed by Clerk under their privacy policy
• Resend: Sends transactional notifications to our team and, where you have opted in, marketing/onboarding emails from support@supportroadmap.com
• Vercel: Hosts the website and may collect basic server logs for security and performance

Data Retention

We retain form submissions and consent records for as long as needed to operate SupportRoadmap and honour your preferences (including unsubscribe status). You can request deletion at any time.

Your Rights

• Access your data: Request a copy of personal information we hold about you
• Request deletion: Ask us to remove your data
• Correct inaccuracies: Update information you've provided
• Unsubscribe: Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us
